More about "Ignited: An Artistic Response to Chico's Fiery Summer Months"....

The Artistry will be heating things up this July with an exhibition that is seasonally inspired. 6 local artists, each with a different perspective on the theme, will be showcasing art from a variety of mediums, some that use fire and heat in the creative process (ceramics, glass, & metal), others whose expression is in the aesthetic content.

These local artists include:

Photographer, John Peters whose work encompases the vastness and beauty of Bidwell Park in its hottest temperatures;

Photographer, Dave Breglia, whose imagery is a window into a world that not very many people see,… that of a firefighter;

Photographer, Karen Laslo, who has documented the portraits of soot-ridden firemen; Glass artist, Linda Bird, with large-scale, layered glass work;

Metal Artist, Dave Richer, who combines skill, an artistic eye and function to create work that can encompass fire; and,

Raku Ceramist and Butte College ceramic tech, Scott Bryson, with his very large and very small ceramic work.

Before you head to the Farmer’s Market, The Artistry invites you to see the work, meet the artists, and enjoy some good food and drinks during the opening reception on Thursday, July 8th from 5-8. A surprise artist will be demonstrating in the window!
