Emotional landscapes and The Aviary of Mood at The Artistry

CHICO — Artist in residence Delbert Rupp and returning artist Caitlin Schwerin share their sculptures and paintings in "Emotional Landscapes & The Aviary of Mood" exhibit opening Saturday at The Artistry.To kick off this new exhibit, the gallery, located at 830 Broadway, is hosting a reception 5-8 p.m. The event is open to the public and affords people the opportunity to meet and chat with both artists.

Art from recycled materials powers lively opening for group show at The Artistry

Last Saturday evening’s opening at The Artistry was packed. All evening long, spectators gathered in little mobs before each of the many works that together make up Spare Parts, an ongoing (through May 8) show of pieces made from recycled materials. The art work was created by a slew of local artists, including mosaicist Cooie Grey-Lavin, woodworker Ken McCall, ceramicist Janice Hofmann and paper artist Darcy Lawson.

The Artistry reclaims 'Spare Parts' in upcoming exhibition

CHICO -- "The Spare Parts: Reclaimed Art Show 2010," opening Saturday at The Artistry, shows that one person's trash and recycling is another's art.


This unique show, which runs through May 8, opens with a public reception at 5-8 p.m. Saturday at the gallery, 830 Broadway St., with refreshments and live entertainment by The Railflowers, a local a capella and acoustic trio of sisters.
